Online Class
Online childbirth class: walk into your birth knowing what's happening and why.
WOMB Online is a self-paced childbirth class from WOMB Roanoke built by a labor nurse and a doula. It's evidence-based and has no agenda, so you get the full picture and decide what's right for you.
Start today. Watch on your own schedule. [Scholarship seats available.]
Birth information shouldn't feel like picking a side.
You've probably already tried to figure this out on your own. You've scrolled Instagram, watched the documentaries, asked friends, and maybe looked at other courses. And somewhere along the way you noticed that almost everyone is selling you something: one "right" way to give birth, or one reason to be afraid.
Meanwhile the real questions are still sitting there:
What actually happens in labor, and what are my options?
What will they ask me to decide, and how fast?
What if things don't go the way I planned?
You shouldn't have to walk into the hospital hoping it all makes sense in the moment.
Taught by the two people who built it.
Grace Brian
Fourmer Doula, CD(DONA)
Grace spent three years as a certified birth doula and birth photographer. After her first child was born she had questions nobody had answered, so she became a doula and found more answers than she ever imagined.
RN
Taryn Adrados
Taryn spent 6.5 years as a labor and delivery nurse. She has watched parents walk into the hospital without the information they needed, and she wanted to change that.
No agenda. Just what's true.
WOMB Online doesn't teach a method, and it doesn't tell you there's a right way to have your baby. Natural, medicated, planned, unplanned: we cover them all with the same care, because every one of them is a real way to give birth.
What you get is the evidence, a clear explanation of your options, and the confidence to ask good questions. Then the decisions are yours.
Every option explained plainly, with no pressure toward any one path.

FAQ
-
Anytime. Many families start in the second trimester and finish a few weeks before their due date, but the course works whenever you find it, including at 36 weeks.
-
No. It's useful for first-timers, and just as useful if your last birth left you with questions.
-
Yes! We cover every option the same way, without pressure.

Yes and no. Homebirths can turn into hospital births, and it helps to know what that looks like. We also cover information about labor and postpartum that is the same for everyone. However, we do not cover what to expect with a homebirth. Many homebirth providers will have their own classes or recommendations that specifically cover homebirth protocols and available tools and procedures. We are always here to answer any questions you may have and would be happy to talk more over email to help you make the best decision.
-
Yes. The course is built so your support person understands what's happening and how to help.
-
Not in depth, on purpose. Feeding is such a broad topic that it needs to be it’s own class. We are happy to help answer questions and provide resources if you need. Newborn care is largely taught to you in the hospital by your nurses once your baby is born. We do cover some basics of both feeding and newborn care. What we find is that people often never feel like they have had enough newborn care practice but that they are always fine once their baby arrives. You may never feel totally ready for that moment, but once it’s here you will be surprised that you’re more capable than you think!

See the comparison above. In short: WOMB has no agenda and is taught by an independent nonprofit team, not your delivery hospital. This means that we are not held back by beurocracy or bending statistics to fit our course’s claims. We have no personal interest in what the information states other than that it is true.

Yes. WOMB Roanoke also runs in-person cohorts for local families.
